Welcome to Math Intervention Grades 4-8!
Welcome to Math Intervention! This is where students are expected to persevere, overcome, and succeed beyond their own expectations. Students will learn the importance of math and the skills needed to be successful today, as well as in the future. My ultimate goal is always to turn math haters in to math lovers (or at least appreciators)!
My name is Brandi Barton. I have been teaching for 6 years, five of which have been with Sunrise Academy. I graduated from Ohio Dominican University with a Bachelors in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in math and science. I have a generalist endorsement that allows me to teach Social Studies, as well as Language Arts. I am currently taking courses at ODU to earn my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, my Reading Endorsement, as well as an Intervention Specialist Licensure.
I am a co-adviser, alongside Ms. Shahira, for the National Junior Honor Society program as Sunrise Academy. This program allows some of our Sunrise Academy scholars to volunteer within the school, as well as their community. I will be leading the Sunday Math Club that will begin in September. This club will provide our struggling math students with additional support, as well as challenge our more advanced student to reach further.
If you have questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to email me at email@example.com.
I look forward to working with you and your student in the future!
