Job Responsibility

• Provide individual and small-group academic intervention to eligible Title I students.
• Deliver targeted instruction primarily in reading/literacy and mathematics, based on identified student needs and available Title I services.
• Use assessment data (MAP) to identify students' areas of need.
• Develop and implement intervention plans aligned with students' academic needs and grade-level standards.
• Use research-based instructional strategies and intervention programs to address learning gaps.
• Differentiate instruction according to students' abilities, learning styles, and academic needs.
• Establish measurable academic goals for participating students.
• Administer appropriate assessments and progress-monitoring tools to evaluate student growth.
• Maintain accurate records of student participation, services provided, assessment results, intervention plans, and academic progress.
• Regularly analyze student data and adjust interventions based on progress.
• Communicate student progress and concerns with classroom teachers and school administrators.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure that Title I intervention supports and supplements classroom instruction.
• Coordinate intervention schedules with teachers and administrators to minimize disruption to students' core instruction.
• Participate in meetings related to student academic performance, intervention planning, and Title I services as requested.
• Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding students' academic needs, progress, and strategies for supporting learning at home.
• Provide appropriate resources and recommendations to families when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
• Assist the school in maintaining documentation required for Title I services and district or state reporting.
• Follow applicable federal, state, district, and school requirements related to Title I services.
• Participate in professional development related to intervention, assessment, literacy, mathematics, differentiated instruction, and student support.
• Perform other Title I-related duties as assigned by the school administration.  

Educational Requirement

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or an appropriate related field.
• Valid Ohio teaching license issued through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, appropriate to the services being provided.
• Experience providing academic intervention, remediation, tutoring, or differentiated instruction is preferred.
• Knowledge of effective instructional and intervention strategies.
• Ability to use student assessment and performance data to guide instruction and monitor progress.
• Ability to work effectively with students who demonstrate varying levels of academic achievement.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, administrators, students, families, and other educational professionals.
• Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and student-support skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Commitment to the mission, values, expectations, and educational philosophy of Sunrise Academy. 

Experience Requirement

• Previous experience as a Title I teacher, intervention specialist, reading teacher, math intervention teacher, or academic support teacher.
• Experience providing small-group and individualized instruction.
• Experience working with assessment and progress-monitoring data.
• Knowledge of evidence-based reading and mathematics interventions.
• Experience working with students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and academic backgrounds.
• Familiarity with Ohio Learning Standards and grade-level academic expectations. Preferably have at least one year of experience working with students in a classroom
  

Additional Requirement

• Preferably holds a teaching license or certificate in the state of Ohio.
• Preferably has at least one year experience working with students in a classroom.
