Dear Parents, Guardians, and Members of the Sunrise Academy Community,

Following the release of our 2025-2026 Ohio Test Scores, we are pleased to share a closer look at the results. This report compares Sunrise Academy's 2025-2026 Ohio State Test (OST) proficiency with the Ohio state average and with Hilliard School District, Dublin School District and Metro School, and shows how our results have changed over the last three school years (2023-2026).

What the report covers

  • English Language Arts: Grades 3 to 8 and High School English Language Arts II
  • Mathematics: Grades 3 to 8, High School Algebra I and Geometry
  • Science: Grades 5 and 8, and High School Biology
  • Social Studies: High School American History and American Government

For each test, the charts show the share of students at each performance level (Advanced, Accomplished, Proficient, Basic and Limited) and the overall percentage of proficiency, side by side with the state and the other districts.

Highlights from 2025-2026

  • Strong English Language Arts results, with proficiency between 80% and 100%, and significant improvement in Grades 7 and 8 and High School English Language Arts II.
  • Strong Mathematics results in Grades 4 and 7.
  • 84% proficiency in Grade 5 Science.
  • 100% proficiency in American History and 86% in American Government.

The report also identifies the areas where we will focus our work this year, especially Mathematics in Grades 6 and 8, and Science in Grade 8 and Biology.

Our goals for 2026-2027

  • English Language Arts: at least 90% proficiency across all tested grades.
  • Mathematics: at least 80% across tested grades, with an initial recovery target of 50% for Grade 8.
  • Science: 90% in Grade 5, 75% in Grade 8 and 80% in Biology.
  • Social Studies: maintain at least 95% proficiency in American History and American Government.

To reach these goals, our teachers will analyze OST and MAP data to identify learning gaps, provide targeted intervention and differentiated instruction, monitor student growth through the fall, winter and spring MAP assessments, strengthen instruction through collaboration and professional development, and review student progress regularly.

By May 2027, Sunrise Academy aims to maintain its academic strengths, close achievement gaps in Mathematics and Science, and improve student proficiency through data-driven instruction and continuous monitoring. Thank you for your continued partnership in your children's learning.
